    Anti-abortionists Caught The Car

    in General Discussion

Anti-abortion leaders are claiming that 10 year old that got the abortion after getting pregnant from a rape — didn’t actually get an “abortion“. It was an emergency procedure according to them. (MSNBC)

Why? They caught the car and weren’t expecting the supremes to give them a hard no abortion rule. Now when that rule hits reality that puts the anti-abortion scumbags in a bad light, they try to change the language and perception.

See, no abortions isn’t so bad. And that 10 year old didn’t have an abortion. She had an emergency procedure.

Life in the christo-fascist upside-down is so confusing.

Those jackasses think they're gonna bump up the market for adoptable babies. A stampede of women and men are charging in to surgeons' offices for permanent sterilization.

Just a guess but when you take away peoples’ options, they get creative finding new ones…

Anti-abortion codification was previously predicted to be a third rail of politics. The common knowledge was that any political party that bucked the vast majority of the population and actually made abortion illegal again would die off. This recent SCOTUS ruling indicates a few things-1) GQP knows it is running out of popular policies and needs new wedge issues; 2) voting as a percentage of population has increased and GQP knows they lose when more people vote; 3) GQP and its owners now think they are in a position to severely limit who gets to vote; 4) GQP and its owners now think they need more and bigger wedge issues to motivate their base to vote and coupled with their voter suppression and legalizing legislatures as sole final say in whose votes count or can be ignored tactics across the country they think they can overcome the popular vote this particular wedge issue (abortion rights) will motivate; 5) their efforts to block all good policy out of senate to decrease inflation and actually help people will garner more anti-Biden/anti-Dem votes.

    I truly hope they miscalculated.

I hope you turn out to be correct about #5. It seems to me that there are a lot of low-information voters who blame or credit the President for everything.

Is there not a sinister plot to make it harder for "fringe" people to vote? If you think about it, you can disenfranchise half the population if you do not allow "women" to vote. "Prefer not to say" gets rid of that lot. "Other" is disallowed. And so on

No, no... This is great! Normally, you have to figure what code phrases will be used for a thing: "Urban" = Black, "Family values" = Christian fundamentalist, "Heritage, not hate" = Hate, etc. This will be a code phrase that will be used! After all, you know anti-abortionists believe "The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion", so when they say they or someone in their family "had an emergency procedure" you'll know. (wink.)

But seriously, now anti-abortionists have to try to keep the daemons from flying out their drooling mouths and giving away the plot to their most twisted power fantasies.

I just got home from a big pro-choice rally outside the state capitol in St. Paul (Minnesota). Good speeches, good music, all the stuff libs rock at.

One thing that bothered me, though: About a dozen anti-choicers hung out on a corner across the street. Dozens of pro-choicers surrounded and trolled them hard, some shouting obscene references to god (not that I'm a fan). But where do you think all the big media cameras were? On this total distraction.

Please, fellow libs, I'm begging you: Stop crying on national teevee and stop publicly harassing the other side. It only makes them martyrs and gets them attention. Ignore them in these situations. Today's anti-choicers weren't even a blip until pro-choicers chose to make this an ugly confrontation.

What did the forced birthers think was going to happen? That they'd be thought of as the great saviors of humanity instead of the misogynistic asshats they are? Now that they've shown the world who they truly are and we believe them, they want to obfuscate their narrative so we don't hold them accountable, which we absolutely must do by calling them out and voting them out. I hope all supporters of abortion rights show up to the polls in overwhelming numbers in November and send them scurrying back under their rocks.

Ann Coulter did similar manipulating of the language. When someone told her that her family came to the USA as immigrants, she said that they weren't immigrants; they were "settlers".

    Oh! That's totally different! /s

What a twit. Wonder why the Chinese weren’t considered “settlers” then? Biotch. She knows full well they were all fleeing from shit elsewhere. I don’t know the roots of all my people, but I do know the ones from Scotland were forced out of the Highlands during the Clearances. Sure, some stayed there, but not everyone could once they’d fished the sea pretty well dry. They were immigrants, migrating away from poverty and famines. Coulter is a fucking rag.

So, using her logic, my family came here as "indentured servants", not slaves... Oh, that's right, I've seen this B.S. revisionist drivel since what, the 80s? Words are just flexible concepts, right? They don't really mean anything right? Doubleplusungood, I swear.

”Not an abortion”. They’re just unbelievable. Meanwhile another slathering herd is threatening the doctor. Another, freaking out about “illegals”. So they’re covering all their angles.
