A 30 year old singer had a heart attack onstage and died. Immediately, the antivaxxers swooped down to spread the misinformation that he had died due to getting a Covid vaccine. Poor Pedro, another person abused by the loonies.
Newsweek needs to stop leaning so far right that they fall into the Q-cult quagmire. Any time there is "controversy" they jump on it as "news." Note that it is almost a duplicate of a previous "news" report... on the same freaking thing and a duplicate headline that popped up in the feed at the bottom! Also, note that the picture they use is of someone being vaccinated. Why? How is that image "fair?"
My son is younger than 30 and got a heart condition BECAUSE OF COVID... and many young people will have a greater risk of a heart attack for at least a year after COVID, My son's heart condition is treatable and was more than likely PROTECTED by his vaccinations. Where is THAT kind of info in the article?
Being this is about COVID, why was this "reporter" assigned to it? If this is what is considered a "fair" report (see their mandate below the article) I would hate to see this reporters climate change reporting.
Anna Skinner is a Newsweek senior reporter based in Indianapolis. Her focus is reporting on the climate, environment and weather but she also reports on other topics for the National News Team. She has covered climate change and natural disasters extensively. Anna joined Newsweek in 2022 from Current Publishing, a local weekly central Indiana newspaper where she worked as a managing editor.
Mary in the comments points out that yes, the vaccine has rarely caused myocaditis. While that is true and was reported on from the beginning: mostly in young men, it resolved quickly for most, is treatable, and more than halved the risk and numbers in the non vaccinated. Also, with an infection, you have to deal with the other residual effects like long COVID and lasting lung, kidney and other organ and tissue damage you do not get after vaccination.
Although the Mary in the Newsweek comments is trying to sound reasonable, she offers no stats to back up her statements.
Being fully vaccinated simply means having 2 vaccinations. That protection waned when Omicron came into the picture... which is why the bivalent booster is CRITICAL. That is something lacking in the article because it is a sensation piece... and nothing remotely akin to news. My rating of the article was unfair RW schlock.
