This is an excellent opinion, by a medical ethicist, in which he begs everyone not to think that Long Covid is just for a few unlucky people, who were infected after the initial stage.
I think we will find in the long term studies that it is just as dangerous and debilitating as the initial viral infection and far more dangerous. (gifted article, free to read.)
Speaking of long haul, I haven't seen Long Haul Fucker in days. Wanted to make sure they’ve seen the Paxlovid data. There’s some evidence that Paxlovid may be helpful for some long haulers. Studies are being either considered or started. But many folks are just trying to get ahold of it because why not? If a person is suffering then the minimal side effects would be worth it.
And yet, another complication: Long Covid appears to be hitting mostly younger people in their prime working years-and that's destroying their ability to pay their loans off and establish their lives.
‘Another Unequal Burden’: Working With Long Covid
This virus is just never ending-if it doesn't kill you, it maims you, or it hides in your body until it reappears.
Well... maybe/probably so the long covid. I hope it's minimal or recoverable to a degree. But yah, I've wondered about this too.
How can you tell with some of them who have definite mental issues (I don't have to name them.)? They're already lunatics or vicious, slobbering, neocon azzholes. Maybe science will discover a cure for azzholeitus?!? THAT would be a miracle...and so many fewer people to stress others to the point of homicidal fantasies. jus sayin.
It's very misleading for anti-vaxxers to cite a fake "survival rate" statistic without acknowledging that many of the people who "survive" covid wind up in terrible condition. "Surviving" is not the same as "fully recovering"!
