Bailey is the same asshole who encouraged people & restaurants to go against Pritzker's covid public health measures back when covid was surging. He filed suit against Pritzker, which I think was dropped because all restrictions had been lifted by the time it made it before the Judge. I've hated Bailey since 2020.

I read a great book about this last year. Misfire, by Tim Mak. IIRC, he did a series about it for NPR, before expanding the series into the book. Definitely recommend it.

This is my neck of the woods. I went to college 2 towns west of HP, and lived one town west of HP from 1988 to 1991. From 1998 to 2013, I worked in the town directly south of HP. I have friends & former co-workers who live in HP, who are safe, thank god. I'm so fucking tired of this goddamned gun violence.
