    Seems like in these people, paxlovid is beating it down and when when they go off the drug, their immune system doesn't finish the job for whatever reason.

    Thanks PE, that's a new one! Covid keeps springing new surprises. Prevention definitely better than cure.

    @Le Petomane I'm not sure why the 5-day course of treatment was chosen. I think back to ages ago when I had a dental infection. They would give me a short course of antibiotics, book an appointment a few days afterwards, discover I still had an infection and repeat. I know they try to limit antibiotics for just these reason but 2 short courses followed by a long one might have been part of the issue.


    I have since found that I react better to sulfa-based antibiotics.
