No, it's not about the next hurricane to hit, but close-the nursing shortage is exacerbating the Covid pandemic in Florida and so far, they've lost 77,000 people to it, with no way of limiting the next wave's death rate, because so many health care professionals have left the profession, (and I don't damn well blame them!) so they have very few left to actually care for those in ICU's.

A report by the Florida Hospital Association estimates 70 percent of Florida hospitals are facing a critical staffing shortage, and the state will be short 60,000 nurses by 2035.
The article goes on to say that states and cities are assuming this pandemic is over for all intents and purposes...with absolutely no proof besides dropping case rates.
That's a big mistake.
But they're not the only state to have problems. The entire country is now in denial and refuses to even think that the pandemic is going to return: Officials are nervous about mask mandates — even in Covid hot spots
We're asking for trouble. We will reap it big time.
I still mask up when inside a building, and I still haven’t boarded a flight since early February 2020. I see more and more people maskless, so I give them wide berth and keep to myself. Does anyone have any info on the new variant making the rounds in the US?
