GOP Senators Say Kansas Abortion Result A 'Wake-Up Call' For Party

    in General Discussion

Wow. Who could have seen that coming? How could a bunch of puritanical old white guys owned by big oil and gas, and one old homosexual white guy owned by big oil and gas, have missed reading the room?

It’s because they are puritanical old white guys. No uterus. They don’t get pregnant or have to even deal with pregnancies. Someone in their family needs an abortion? Credit card gets a private flight to a hospital even if it is in another country. Nobody’s life gets ruined. Nobody has to have deformed babies - as long as you have the money and power like these oblivious republican puritanical old white guys with no uterus and no consequences.

So go contemplate your belly buttons, out of touch old white guys. See if you can find intelligence or compassion as you recite made-up bible passages.

Isn't it great that this was such a surprise? All the while Republicans enjoyed downplaying the SC's Roe decision, the activists got busy. It's been fun watching the fallout since Tuesday, and hearing all the pro-choicers did to make this happen.

After downplaying the overturning of Roe for a few months, Republican pundits are freaking out. I had to laugh on Tuesday night at the GOP consultant being interviewed on MSNBC as it was just becoming clear what was happening in Kansas. She insisted that voters weren't rejecting Republicans, they were rejecting extremism (as if there's a difference).

The best part was the look on her face. Panicked. I thought she was gonna cry.

It was the Lawrence O'Donnell hour Tuesday night. I can't find a separate YouTube clip of it but you may have a way to watch the rerun.

Zerlina Maxwell interviewed 3 people, starting at 43:40. One of them was Susan del Percio, Republican strategist. That's the one. She agrees on some points with the other 2 interviewees, but she looks haunted from start to finish. She seems to think the anti-choice stain can be lifted off Republican candidates in November. But I can't imagine that the reelection of the worst anti-choicers (like Abbott) is gonna be easy. Go, Beto!

I hope there's a nationwide November 8th sunami like they had in Kansas.

Ah that's why! They only put highlights on Youtube. That part must have been a real snooze as I still can't find it. Thanks for trying to help!

Their echo chamber and Moscow Mitch’s uncanny ability to continue minority rule over the Senate lulled them into thinking they were the majority. At least the majority of the voters. Nice wake up call and let’s hope their embrace of the third rail in politics has its predicted results.
