Update on The Bioterrorist ex-friend in WI. Evacuation ordered for fires (plural) at his cabin. Smelled smoke, so he went to check on his neighbor. The neighbor was BURNING pine needles! Couldn't pay $25 to drop them off at the dump. Well, Wisconsin Dept of Natural Resources (DNR) spotted smoke from the stupid redneck MF neighbor, flew a plane over, then dispatched agents to check it out. Agent "educated" neighbor to high fire danger Fire (pine needles) was put out. No fine. BOTH HAD THE GALL TO COMPLAIN "'BOUT THE GOV'MINT" keeping too close an eye on everything.
JHC. Shaking my head...
"I'm never, ever, ever going back, to Butthole-ville..." (Drive-by Truckers)
My stepdad (Pop) married my widowed mother, with 5 young kids, when I was 8 yo, 1963. He was 19 years older than mom. He was born in 1910 in Kansas. He broke horses, rode on cattle drives, and worked for Walter Brennan for a while. He recited long Cowboy poems that he memorized as a young person. He recited The Cremation of Sam McGee for me at the age of 92. He wore a cowboy hat.
He was a lifelong Republican, until W Bush, when he switched parties. Mom was a dedicated Democrat. Don't remember politics beings discussed at home, or at the Baptist Church we attended. But I quit attending church when I turned 18 anyway.
He and mom were a wonderful loving couple until Pop passed at the age of 95. He cooked, his usual profession was cook/chef, depending on the restaurant. Two days before he passed (hope that annoys some of you), he made my mom a Spanish omelet, her favorite.
If you had ever bumped into pop when he was alive, wearing a Stetson, you would've hated him? I'm amazed at the amount of stereotyping our group does. Extremely lame and not very bright.
