I'm allowing more people in but only as paying members. There are over 1000 requests to join, Ive been hesitant to allow people in because I haven't had the time to monitor posts. The thought of only allowing patreon subscribers is that trolls will be hesitant to pay just to get booted.
We need an army. So let's create one.
The problem is existing members who have had something go wrong or lost their login details cannot get back in. The reset password function is broken, that needs to be fixed.
And I'm on side with a few others here with the recurring payments option. If we could just pay monthly without the auto renewal I would be happy to contribute.
1000 requests x $10/year = $10,000, which is nothing to sneeze at.
$5/month seems possibly a bit high on the high side to me, especially with the current level of membership and new posts being relatively infrequent. I'd suggest maybe something more like $10/year. It would be good to discourage trolls however. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
I wondered why so few of us seemed active, I had no idea membership had been closed, I thought it was due to a flawed perception that the pandemic was over.
So yes, new participants would be welcome.
