Covid also seems capable of fucking with your A1C and actually pushing you into diabetes. My husband and I got what we now know was Covid in early January, 2020. We both had our annual exams and bloodwork done later in the month. Both of us had a spike in our A1C. At that point I was pre-diabetic, and I'd never had an abnormal reading before. I have a vegan diet, so my eating habits didn't explain it. Luckily we both got normal readings the next time we had bloodwork done, but not everyone is so lucky.
I've read some of the scientific literature and this is a virus that is not the flu for sure.
