Posted with their permission so there's no confusion and because so many of you are asking where they went.
On Sunday we had a post where comments spiraled out of control. The following happened:
RPN messaged and asked why their comment was deleted on the post and if it broke any guidelines or rules. Around the same time RPN asked in the forum to have their account deleted.
The following is our conversation:
Honestly, I don't even remember exactly what the comment was. I just saw it had turned into a big mess with people fighting and tensions flaring. I shut it down. I shut down commenting on xxxxx's post because things were getting out of hand and I don't want to sit and watch every single comment on a Sunday afternoon. The easiest and quickest way to deal with it was to delete the top reply so it takes out the 80 comments below otherwise I have to delete each comment one by one and I don't have time for that. Sorry if you are upset by that. As you can imagine, it's extremely tedious to moderate comments, especially on a sensitive post. I saw your post on the forum about wanting your account deleted and did so accordingly.
Stay safe and healthy,
Thank you for deleting the account. I'll refresh your memory. I addressed a few of the malcontents that are allowed to roam free in your comment section. They were having a fit that Users were contributing to the GFM for Olivia. The motherless infant. The GFM that you folks would have been 'happy' to see cross the goal with the help of SAV members. At least, that was stated in the post. I'll quote to the best of my memory since it was brief. "For those of you that are scaring or discouraging people from donating. I donated and received a very touching personal Thank you message from Lyndsi this morning. Some folks on here need some self-reflection as they are becoming what they are fighting against." This is where your tedious, labor intensive 80 comment deletion comes into play. The jackals you play host to, were not happy with their one post of disagreement of donating to a motherless infant. They had to check back repeatedly. to see the GFM goal increasing and post their disgust about it. Telling folks they're ignorant, misguided and should be scared to donate because they'll get doxxed and terrible things will happen because they post on the SAV site.
I even BLOCKED the member, but they were able to continue to Post on the Comment.
They've cleaned up their post pretty nicely now to edit it to appear caring.
Not the original verbiage they posted.
I fucking defended myself from the distortion. Suddenly, I was the villain, because I donated. Because I agreed with Vaxman. I wanted to see the goal hit.
Making ANY medical decisions, for a first time expecting Mother, are anxiety ridden. Olivia did not do anything wrong but was born during a Pandemic.
But, my full original post is deleted. "it had turned into a big mess with people fighting and tensions flaring."
Um, do you read the comments? You're worried about a big mess & tensions flaring?
And you delete that specific post?
Ok. That's real fucked up.
You deleted the account at my request, thank you.
I ended my Patreon, thank you.
Best karmic wishes, It was real. Godspeed.
Thank you for refreshing my memory on the comment. I actually DO remember that comment and I was surprised that things went off the rail after that. I HONESTLY did not think I deleted your original comment because I thought it was really nice and it upset me how people were reacting with such anger to a NICE comment, especially since it echoed Vaxman's sentiment. I thought I deleted the ones below it where it had descended into a mess of people fighting back and forth.
So yeah, maybe that's "fucked up" as you say but it was a mistake. An honest one. I clicked the wrong thing. I thought I was only going to delete the replies to your original comment after it started getting messy. I had zero issues with your comment and what you said. And I am sorry that the block feature doesn't work the way it should but wix sucks like that sometimes.
It kept me up all night. This site is not healthy for me and I don't think it's worth attempting to help anymore. Vaxman is not my spouse or employer. I get absolutely ZERO money for helping.I was just trying to help a friend on a site where I genuinely thought that we could help show people the dangers of not getting vaccinated. I don't think I can keep doing this anymore.
I honestly didn't think that was the comment I deleted. I was trying to hurry up and clean a mess on a Sunday morning with a slight hangover, if I'm being honest. I'm sorry that you're so upset about it but it was an honest mistake. You can leave SAV, discontinue Patreon, that's your choice but you're only punishing Vaxman, not me-who actually deleted the comment. You've been a good contributor for a long time and I'm surprised that one mistake by ME, not him, caused you such turmoil. And again, I'm sorry for that.
No need to apologize. It is what it is.
I'm on a client's project, my daughter called and told me to check my email. Apparently, you posted this response on the SAV site?
That is out of context. I no longer have an account to post and do not wish to visit the site and create another account to reply.
In fairness, will you please make a post in the Forum called Rand Paul's Departure
In the post, please cut & paste ALL 5 of our messages on this topic.
I want to ensure people, that I was not an asshole to you along with the reason I'm no longer on the site.
There were no usernames mentioned, so it's perfectly fine to post them.
The only Edit I have is, I believe in haste, I said Lyndsi sent the personal message. Obviously, she is no longer with us, it was from Melody, Olivia's guardian.
1 - My inquiry
2 - Your response
3 - My reply
4 - Your apology
5 - This email
It's definitely not YOU, that I'm leaving and I'm not punishing Vaxman.
Again, YOU are not the reason I departed.
No need for any Drama, the post explains ALL, I asked for my account to be deleted and I'm gone.
Thank you, Best Karmic wishes, Godspeed.
I'm sorry RPN is gone. I believe I was the first respondent to the now deleted comment. I disagreed with RPN, speaking only for myself. I never discourage anybody from donating to any cause. I have limited funds, and believe my donations make the biggest impact in my own community. At least 25 friends have lost homes to the Western U.S. wildfires in the last few years. I help the hungry and homeless, and pets in my home range. I did not see the rest of the thread, (after my reply)before deletion, I hope RPN returns, Dip Dibbler came back, I'm glad to see Dip.
But I'm more concerned about you, dear Vaxxylady. I appreciate your hard work, humor, gentle guidance, and wish we saw you more often.
But for crying out loud, take care of yourself! Take a fricking break if you need to. Dump us if that's best for you. You are already a champion.
clearly I was the one who upset RPN so much they had to cancel their account. To be very clear, I did in fact state that I (like many others) disagreed with donating to this family. Others felt moved to donate and did so. Fine. When I looked at the GoFundMe, I did notice that some people appeared to be using their real names when donating. I merely warned them that they should select the “anonymous“ option when donating because, yes, they were unwittingly making themselves potential targets for doxximg. RPN was simply upset that I disagreed with his POV about the ethics of donating to that family and flipped out. I was actually trying to help SAV’ers who disagreed with me about donating to donate their money without accidentally outing themselves. I make no apologies for that whatsoever. It was never a scare tactic, and anyone who claims otherwise is being disingenuous. ETA: It is sad that he felt the need to leave, but I genuinely hope he returns. I doubt he can resist the temptation to do so.
Thank you for the clarification and explanation. RPN will ne missed. Also why I posted about the one-dimensional nature of these sites and commentary.
Thank you and Vaxman for a safe place to vent and see others’ responses to the abject stupidity featured here.
