A group of hikers filming a reality show were rescued via helicopter from a trail in Phoenix on Thursday due to heat-related illnesses....
At least eight people needed assistance getting down from the Echo Canyon Trail on Camelback Mountain as temperatures hit triple digits....
“We had no idea going into it that this apparently was one of the hardest trails in Phoenix,” Kristin Livingston, one of the hikers, told CNN affiliate KTVK/KPHO.
Five members of the group were taken from the trail by helicopter and three others walked down the mountain with assistance, KTVK/KPHO reported.
During the hike, the group – who were filming as part of a faith-based show called “Bad Girls Gone God” – also ran out of water, KTVK/KPHO reported. Tatiana Robinson started feeling dizzy as she as making her way down, she told the news outlet.
I lean pretty hard left politically. But despite this, I do think there is some merit to understanding religion. I think its important in understanding sociology and people groups; and how people think.
I think the United States has a very weird version of Christianity, that they try to shove down people's throats. Anti-Science & Creationism is not something I see nearly as much in places like Europe; just so weird seeing that here.
@Dip Dibbler This is a seriously must watch time investment for your viewing pleasure. You will not be disappointed. Here are just a interesting few remarkable highlights:
...sukahooboosgaga faodeeosoely, I don't make this stuff up....
...behold the atheist nightmare...made with a nonslip surface...when you pull the tab the
contents..... Sidebar: you need to watch to see what the contents does, hint easy to
digest... Sidenote: been there, I do testify!
...smurfs can be demonic
...little boys have acne, I can tell you why, it's a natural process of the fallen creature... LOL
WTF?
...rap artist proclaims in song... I can't type that, sorry
...old Texas rat trap, illustrated with detailed instructions

...because I changed from waist up into a cobra
also: don't miss hard-nips man, woman professes love storm.....
Those points of comic relief are in the first few minutes. Many, many more come afterward. My honest impression is what is going on with these crazy muthah fuckahs? Wow! And what is becoming of our world with all the willful ignorance, denialism, grifterism, veracity of bizarro bullshit? And pain for us all that it brings? We can all laugh, and I do so whole heartedly.... but, snapping back to a glimpse of reality....oh, for the children I weep.
Yes, that creature, too. Leave the birds alone, freaking creepsters, I'm serious. Also, imagine being at that service? Any one of them actually, not kidding.
Ok, how about these fine points sure to convert?
- Pat Robertson is correct ....the demon spirits I've inhaled are pretty wicked.
- Gun reform strategy....turn in your guns, send us your cash
- I'm loaded, I'm pregnant with miracles, he said.
- Personal ask: Atheists, please don't protest Santa Claus. Think of the children.
- Let his love pop a cap in your butt and pray hallelujah! Sounds like my neighborhood.
- I was in the room....shaking all over....who goes for derangement like that? I mean, really!
- Bend it, all the way, all the way, all the way...Think what you will! lol
- Have you broken your curse of illegitimacy? UHOH! Also, whooooaaah wtf lady.
- Finally last but not least guy: 1-800-338-3030, enough said.
And all the little nuggets interspersed within. Still weeping here for the children.
the vid says 125 churches utilize snake handling as a part of their religious practices. Just the shear nuttiness and bigoted hatred I've seen in churches deters me from attending. Not to mention I don't believe a lick of what they are promoting.
@piscean blowhard In some ways, humans are the stupidest animals. If a fox were to be bitten by a serpent just once, that fox would be sure never to go near a serpent again. Only a human would be stupid enough to get bitten repeatedly and keep going back for more. More specifically, a Bible-believing human.
@Dip Dibbler may be worth seeing the last part of the video, wish there was a highlight reel. The professor verbally eviscerated his low brow opponent with ease.
Should have just let them die.

I'm not really a "religious" person.

Who in the world would be stupid enough to deliberately handle a potentially deadly venomous creature so carelessly?
(Former) Pastor Cody Coots and his late father, that's who!
I've heard two creationist explanations for the existence of million-year-old fossils:
1. God put those fossils there to test our faith.
2. Satan put the fossils there to deceive us.
