There is no such thing as covid

    in General Discussion

Whenever I type the word covid on any web site while using the Firefox browser, it always gets underlined in red to indicate the word does not exist. If the word covid doesn't exist, then covid is not real. Case closed!

Here is a screen shot of the above paragraph before being posted:

So is this to do with a spell-checker?

I haven't had it happen in Firefox.

When you type comments, don't you sometimes see certain words underlined in red? The red underlines disappear when you click "Publish", but they appear while you're typing to let you know you supposedly "misspelled" something. (Actually, a red underline only indicates that you've used a word that's not included in the built-in dictionary.)

It depends on your Firefox search configuration. If you are searching for exact hits, you will not find something. If you're searching "contains" or "like" than you'll get hits.

I'm not talking about searches. I'm talking about typing comments such as this one. When typing text onto any web site that involves posting text comments (Facebook, YouTube, etc.), words that are not in Firefox's dictionary get flagged as misspellings with a squiggly underline. In this very comment, prior to clicking "publish", I can see squiggly red underlines underneath the words fluppowutz, glopticumple, burfinneguddler, and covid. (Screenshot below)

Maybe it's suggesting you need a capital C?

I use Firefox always, and did not even notice.

The Geeks at Mozilla are likely not that interested in correcting their dictionary, but you can also turn it off and add a default one. Your tongue is firmly planted in cheek, but it is a thread pull on a sweater for Q ! AHHHHHHH!

I think this is why I've never seen it, I must have turned off whatever is Mozilla's spellcheck equivalent.

But my spelling is getting worse as I age - maybe time to admit defeat, haha.

Not only have they been hell bent on changing the past, but they wanna control the future. We do the exact opposite in every fashion. Get it right, common sense, critical thinking. They are darkness, cover it all up, control the narrative, lie, lie some more. Lie about lying.
