Well, it’s not. It’s way too real. And there are troubling trends appearing now that indicate things are happening that will affect our ability to feed ourselves and it might be happening sooner rather than later. The heat is compromising pollen’s ability to function and fertilize. It turns out pollen is very sensitive to temperatures. As the planet heats, we’re going to see growing regions drop out and crops fail thanks to pollen losing its viability. But that’s ok, our bees are dying off anyway and who wants to live a normal life anymore? After the chaos and insanity of the trump years, what is normal anyway?

And those affected the most will be those that least contributed to the problem.
Here is some plant physiology, The good news is that eventually the pollen process could adapt or be developed to withstand the heat... as could we humans. The bad news is that many will not have the capacity to withstand heat shock and that food shortages are likely to occur well before that happens. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5373052/ and https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpls.2021.672368/full
