I saw some media coverage of this last week. The Minnesota clinical trial published in New England Journal of Medicine found that a common diabetes drug, metformin, is effective vs Covid. It also found Ivermectin is nearly USELESS. It "lowers the odds of emergency department visits, hospitalizations, or death due to COVID-19 by over 40 percent; and over 50 percent if prescribed early in onset of symptoms. The study also found no positive effect from treatment with either ivermectin or low-dose fluvoxamine."
I thought the link might be exploring how the virus was adapting to the current treatments/vaccines. It’s actually about the BS treatments like ivermectin that some doctors are still prescribing.
I think the current omicron mutations do open up the other path of study, though. We already have antibiotic-resistant bugs running around and new covid vaccines are just evolutionary pressures. Not using the old formulation vaccines seems like it might be a good idea but that’s not what this is about.
