I do believe so: according to Accuweather quick weather: "Scattered thunderstorms today with a high of 73 °F (22.8 °C) and a low of 65 °F (18.3 °C). There is a 35% chance of precipitation."
It's the usual weather for this time of year here.
It appears that while the infestation is large, there are reports that there is a fungus that is killing the caterpillar moths on the coast. It's been happening in CT, as well. We might catch a break if the fungus spreads.
It's kinda a natural that I would follow this topic. Having leftovers tonight (lamb shank, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts). Will have a smoky red zinfandel.
It's Cinco de Mayo. My Mom gives me her credit card and asks me to go to the liquor store and get her Manhattan fixins. She likes me to mix a batch in an old liter Vermouth bottle so she can just pour one whenever she wants with no mixing, measuring or shaking. She's 98 years old.
I tell her I'd do it on my card, but she insists on paying.
We get back to her apt. and I make her a big batch of Manhattans and kiss her goodbye for the night. She's snoring peacefully in her chair as we leave, never having shared a holiday drink with us.
I don't think she quite gets Cinco De Mayo.
No, I charged the Herradurra Reposado on my own card. Just sayin'.
Mead, to go with the grilled chicken po' boys I'm making for dinner. Unless it rains like hell, we're headed out camping tomorrow. Fish has a new Korean grill to try out.
I love a good cab sav about once a week. Been dialling down the alcohol intake and enjoying this lovely stuff, which is the closest thing to a tasty Italian bubbly I've found without the excess gas and vinegar taste a lot of the no-booze options have. If you find it give it a go, you can taste the grape. I like it with a shot of anti-viral tincture or cannabis oil and a squeeze of lime. Delicious and great for day drinking!
I have discovered and have been enjoying a double IPA called Captain’s Daughter. Brewed in Rhode Island by Great Sail brewery. The closest IPA to Heady Topper I have ever had. Would like to do a side-by-side someday.
Started with a hard seltzer from Oskar Blues Brewery (Longmont Colorado based) while dinner was cooking/being reheated. Enjoyed a fruity California Blend (wine) with a Thai based meal. Good combo.
Beam rocks. Why mess with a proven inexpensive winner?
We're winding down from a long overdue warm weather getaway and heading back north tomorrow, upon which time I will resume my diet and dry spell until my next dietary fail.
@TotsNPears Oh, Mon! For the last 8 months I've struggled so! I stopped going to the gym for the summer and come fall when omi started peaking I just couldn't force myself to go back. That meant serious dieting and no alcohol with few exceptions all winter. Felt good, slept great, bored to tears.
Amazing how quickly a month of sloth and over indulgence can undo all that hard fought common sense!
That's ok, my pants are all stretchy. On our trip back to Maine we're spending Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day in PA with my 98 YO Mom, then back home for a little self imposed
food and drink intervention... until the next celebration!
@hotrudderedbum you are blessed to still have mom! That is the greatest feeling when you pull in to see mom. My dad is 90 and is taking Amtrak from Chicago to flagstaff after July 4th. I’m feeling like a million bucks already!
Who needs to wait until tonight? 🥂🍻🍺🍷🍹🧉🍾
Hrrm… we need a cannibis leaf emoji too me thinks….🫥
I ate a cannabis truffle and watched the sunset.
My Mother and Step-Father are in your neck of the woods. Rain expected tomorrow?
Iced tea with margarita mix thrown in. Nice on a hot night. My version of Long Island Iced Tea.

Using mango juice to chase a shot of cannabis tincture 😀
Makers mark neat

I’m “drinking” “Pineapple Express”… 🤗
Coors light beer.
With a shortage at my store---Hams (refreshing water) beer.
I'm poor white trash at heart.😉
Not great, but a product of Ukraine.
Coffee with Tia Maria.
7 oz. Coronas ("Coronitas") bc I lose count. In Minnesota we called these "ponies"...

Last night was a Macallan 12yr triple cask. No ice.
