After FishGuy announced the passing of his Ancient Cat, I thought about the cat my family had when I was a child: Hubert. He was a beautiful smoke-grey Persian and the most affectionate kitty you could ever hope for. I was 16 when he died, and I still miss him. These photos were taken around 1966 (you can tell from the furnishings and the dress of whoever it is petting him below). I'm hoping others here might post photos of their favorite cat or dog or whatever.

Can’t pick a favorite between these two felines, Nico and Remy. AKA Babycat and Mouseface. Currently 1 and 3 years old. All my kitties have been wonderful, but there’s something special about being with them from kittenhood.
I have a pic from when he was kitty, halfway up the tree but can't find. He loved Christmas.
I wonder why?
Here are a few of Purry (Ancient Cat) in younger times:
This is from 2014, and we were watching some Seahawks playoff game before their Super Bowl win. Purry was playful as hell at 11 years old.
This is 2010 or 2011 (he's sitting on Mrs. Fish's 2009 Infiniti hardtop convertible). He would have been a youngster of just 7 or 8 years old.
Crap, I'm gonna lose my shit again. Damn, this hurts.
Whiskey and Sara. I adopted these two litter mates from a kid hawking them in front of grocery store. They were my first ”babies” for 16 years. When they were put down, I lost a piece of my heart💕
I think this is the third time I've posted Charlie's pic here! Unfortunately, the last time was May 19th, when we had that final vet appointment. It's hard. He was a unique character, as they all are. Not sure how old he was, maybe about 17.
He was lucky not to have the Maine Coon genetic heart problem, but he did develop arthritis, which they often do. Effective veterinary science to the rescue for that!
Now I'm left with my two semi/ex/feral cats who've adopted me - who hate each other passionately! Cat-spats! Still, they both love a big, big fuss on the bed, separately, of course. 😁 It's calming and comforting.
What a gorgeous and sweet kitty! Awww. I'll post up my faves tomorrow....
Thomas what a handsome Hubert. I'm not surprised you still remember him fondly.
This guy could understand everything I said to him. Fearless and way too smart. Paxton. Not gone a year yet. I cried so hard making the final call to the vet, I couldn't even talk. I am sorry for your loss, FG.
My long passed Fluffy, I wish I had more pictures of her.
The love of my life, Lucky, he passed at close to 19 years. My eyes still tear up when I think of him. BTW Hubert was a beauty!
