These are now the people who will keep the pandemic going by letting their immunity wane. My son-in-law is one, thinks it's only the flu. Fully vaxed but no booster. Tell me who you know.
The new wave is here. I have been using the mayo clinics hotspot map to watch for increasing covid numbers. I used to live in Florida and just recently moved back to Ohio so I only watch those 2 states. You can click on show 14 day forecast to see the projection for 2 weeks out. It doesn't look good. Here is the link. https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/map/florida. The wife and I got our flu and covid boosters yesterday. Timed it so in 1 month it will be the holidays. I think we will start to see stories of anti-boosters landing in the hospital before christmas gets here.
Here is the link I use to track Hospital capacity and it will work anywhere in the USA. Unfortunately, the data is always 2 weeks old because of the way data is collected, so please know that it is usually worse than what is reported:
My parents are in this group. My dad had a bad reaction to his second shot, so I guess I can understand him, but my mom hasn’t gotten boosted either. They both got COVID after dad went to a church function and gave it to my brother (fully boosted with no serious symptoms). Mom was furious because she barely leaves the house and when she does she wears a mask. Still no interest in another booster.
I'm seeing a general burnout and lack of urgency that was more prevalent during the beginning of the vaccine rollout. My husband who had 4 shots and had just gotten over covid stated he was done and tired with the whole pandemic didn't know if he was getting the next booster. My general response is that nice dear, that virus isn't done or tired go get your fucking shot. Which he now has had.
People need to get the bi-valent boosters before it gets any worse. Less than 10% have received the 171million shots available.
While the anti-boosters are asleep at the wheel of life, they are missing what is happening at various schools in different states. High Schools have been canceling their football season due to a lack of healthy kids and injuries (... of course without providing details about the illness)
While mainstream media outlets are not reporting it, the articles are out there. In addition, there have been high incidents of people dying from strokes/heart attacks, which is also underreported.
I finally did get Covid after being vaxxed and boosted, and my only symptom was I lost my voice for a few days. I was lucky. Did that make me booster complacent? Nope!!! Luck only takes you so far, so I had my bivalent booster as soon as it was available to me! I just enjoy breathing too much, I guess 😄
Really too bad what with the risk of long covid and the damage this virus can do without the infected knowing about it. Yet here am I and my wife, full vaxx series, every available booster, and multiple close contact high risk exposures including a child in our home who tested positive after spending says in close proximity to us both yet we did not have symptoms nor test positive multiple days in a row. Almost like the vaxx and boosters work as advertised. Child did not have high viral load (vaxxed and boosted also) and we never caught it despite days in close proximity. Whodathunkit?

I have multiple here at the office who thought after the first round they were good and boosters were a money grab.
