A significant number of older entries have had the comments turned off. The existing comments are still archived, but no one can post any new comments. Could someone please explain the reason for this?

I HAD to turn off commenting on a lot of the older stories because spammers and trolls filled them with porn, racist memes, disgusting sexual images/threats directed towards myself and Vaxman, violent threats towards us, and things that could get the site taken down or blacklisted. It took me several days to clean them all up. Many of the stories hadn't been commented on in many months anyways besides the trolls.
It's impossible for us to continue to monitor the comments on 400+ posts.
