Older relatives used to tell us about some relatives who died of the flu in the 1930's. That flu was apparently especially hard on young adults. They didn't have any tales they'd heard from the Spanish Flu, but from what I've read online it was very bad! People had to put the bodies of their deceased family members in their front yard in some places and a wagon would come down the street and collect them from mass burials!

@DeathofRats-BadgeHoorMaroon When I was in my 30's, I got a case of the flu that was so bad that I missed a month of work! I've gotten a flu shot every year since then and had the flu only a few times when the vaccine didn't include a strain of the virus that came through that year. That's really pretty good, because I worked in schools and they are virus and germ factories!

@DeathofRats-BadgeHoorMaroon My brother-in-law also caught Covid in 2020 prior to the vaccine. He ran fever for 10 days and lost 15 pounds! He's had some Long Covid problems from his case. He had a small stroke and also problems with dizziness that caused him to fall and hit his head while out on a boat. His neurologist said the damage he sees in the MRI is on the top of the brain and he had seen it in many Covid patients. We don't really know what the future holds for him, but he is better now. He was lucky to live through it in the first place. I thought my sister was going to be a widow.

Flu: 1; Covid: 4- The flu was really bad about 10 years ago and killed someone I went to high school with. The four Covid deaths were a relative, a co-worker, a friend's husband, and a person I went to high school with. Only one died prior to the vaccines.
