Don't even get me started on blue collar jobs that are too hot, dirty and heavy work for so many. But I do blame parents for pushing all their kids to go be educated in fields they may not be cut out for. My dream is that everyone would be able to make a living in a career they actually are good at, instead of being called "unskilled". "Unskilled" depends on the environment. A money manager isn't very useful in a field that needs cut or in front of a machine they've never seen before. Yet so many jobs need done that nobody notices.

I know for (us) boomers 2000 seems a couple of years ago and COVID seems to be going on for decades, but I'm pretty sure you meant 2020. I too remember a poll guessing how long this would last and I don't think any of the answers were this far out. Looking back at the plague and imagining the centuries and loss of life, no wonder we had the dark ages.

I was raised that anything that weakens your consciousness, such as alcohol or drugs, opens it up to demon possession. Nothing to do with the chemicals I'm sure.

You should know that attractive people get away with so much. I'm still fuming over the news program that showed how pretty people got more job offers, good Samaritan offers, etc. We must have all read or watched too many fairy tales, thinking plain people are bad and pretty people are good. Although I have to admit, Erin Brockovich used her looks for hilariously good work.

I remember a time when HLN had news headlines non-stop 24/7. I even remember an episode of a sitcom where a downstairs neighbor had it on all the time. Unfortunately, I also remember when A & E was Arts and Entertainment and TLC was The Learning Channel.

It's too bad Current TV went under. Watching Keith Olbermann for an hour would be the end of him.

I'm kinda sick to my stomach right now. Thinking back on the secret meetings with Putin and how abnormal everything about his presidency was, I just can't understand why people are still supporting him, or ever did. I knew he was seriously attached to Russia when I read about the mansion he bought in Florida, then sold it to a Russian oligarch for a huge markup, then how it was demolished without the man ever setting foot on the place. Money laundering just oozes. How have people been able to tolerate this extreme abnormal behavior and worship it? There is a person around here that drives a truck with trump flags and f Biden flags and has a Confederate flag at his house; it's so disgusting. He's never even been south of Iowa. I disagree with the people that I've heard say that the papers are old information, who cares. Knowledge of other countries' capabilities or what our long-term plans are, even people's identities or safety could be put at risk. Putin might have even invaded Ukraine over something he knew that he shouldn't have. We haven't even begun to reach the depths of the evil.
