Okay so most of you guys know what I do for a living and I’m telling y’all now that there is a shit-ton “not covid“ out there right now. It’s a daily miracle I’ve never gotten sick.

I’ve seen this, and I so badly want to believe it. The problem is that if I allow myself even a sliver of hope, it will be as bad as Election Day 2016 when I was stunned, shocked, and disgusted by my fellow countrymen. Better to assume the worst and then anything other than that is a better outcome. Mr Tots and I live in a ruby red state. We realize our votes will be washed away by the flood of bigoted, ignorant trump-humping qristian loving assholes, but we will go out and vote because at the end of the day our 2 votes are all the votes we can give.

More than likely it’s her patients fault, but that might depend on how up-to-date she is with her boosters. Masking isnt an option when it comes to having dental work done, and the antiseptic mouthwash we now have to rinse with before a procedure can only do so much. I get creeped out when I have to give a shot to an unmasked person (we can only recommend, not force someone to wear them now) and at least I don’t have to lean over their open mouths for 30 minutes. It’s kind of a miracle she’s only had it twice, IMO

Thanks for the kind words! It is demoralizing and so many have left for other jobs in the last 2.5 years due to the absolutely horrid conditions. Today as I was being overrun with walk-ins (12 in a row in addition to the 8 appointments) I was told “work harder“ by a dude walking in without an appointment when I explained that 20 people were in line ahead. In addition to the shots, we fill about 600 rx/day. This completely demeaning and unrealistic comment came to me at 4:35pm. My shift was supposed to end at 4, and I’m already working 52 hours this week! Oh yeah, and the most insulting part was that I wasn’t even being paid for the time I was there after 4, because we are already over budget and there were no hours to pay me!!!! I did tell the guy he could try somewhere else, but he insisted on staying and being an ass. I almost wanted to stay until he was up just so I could give him his covid shot with a 20 gauge needle!

Thanks guys for that positive outpouring. Lately I’ve had to readjust my BS- tolerance to next to zero. last week, someone called my tech at the drive-through “A stupid Cunt” because they had to wait in line for their covid test. I pretty much lost it and marched over, cancelled their appointment and told them if I ever saw their name on my schedule again, I would cancel it again! They then started bitching and crying that they were needing the test to fly to visit a dying relative. my answer? ”i don’t care!” I know this story absolutely doesn’t Surprise Mary Hilton, but many of you guys would be shocked and disgusted by the constant daily abuse.

I think for his generation, cowboy hats meant different things. I’m really sorry for your loss, because he sounds like he was an amazing human.

Remember those of us who are working 50+ hours a week so we can continue to keep everyone vaccinated! There’s a reason I haven’t been posting much lately. Sheer exhaustion!

I know someone who lost their sense of smell after a brain injury. His children love to take advantage of it and will play games of “chocolate, or poop?” I cannot imagine not being able to smell the difference.

Yeah so as a front-line HCW since day 1 of pandemic, this news is completely unsurprising. Been there Done that Got the therapy bills to prove it.

Lol, I was thinking of coming over here and starting a football thread soon because I’m so excited it’s about a month away. I’m a complete sports fanatic: love it all and for me that was one of the worst parts of the early days of the pandemic. It’s now been since 2019 since I‘ve been to any kind of game in-person and it’s making me crazy…

I don’t have anything original to add other than I absolutely love the people here and all of you guys have made this past few months so much easier to get through. My biggest regret is that there really doesn’t seem to be a safe way to exchange contact info here, and I’m terribly afraid I’ll never get to really know any of you guys except for posting here.

I swear I lost some IQ points watching these idiots try to get their pea-brains working to come up with these crazy ass excuses. At least the two bimbos at the end had enough going on to just admit defeat and move on.
