He was admitted to Waconia Hospital with critical low oxygen levels.’  That was written by Anne herself on the Give Send Go account.  It sounds as though they waited until he was critical before heading to the hospital! When he did not get better on a ventilator, he was moved to Allina Health Mercy Hospital in Minnesota where he was given a tracheostomy.   After 2 more months and not improving, his lungs were not going to recover, the hospital asked Anne to sign a DNR,  “Do Not Resuscitate” so they could put him into palliative care.  According to Anne, however, they said they were taking Scott off the ventilator, giving her 48 hours.    (If true… and I could find nothing to confirm it, in that instance I sympathize.  Pulling the plug is a loathsome decision) Doctors planned to take a covid patient off a ventilator. Approximately 30% of people who had COVID originally had lingering symptoms that lasted for months. The vaccine helped lower those numbers but still, they remain high, with as many as 10% whose symptoms lasted years. I am in the latter category... likely due to age and previous health problems being exacerbated, but I also got a brand new autoimmune condition. I, however, consider myself lucky... Some people have lasting heart problems, breathing problems, liver, kidney and brain problems as well as reactivation of previous conditions like Epstein Barr. The chronic inflammation is hell for those already suffering from arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. Plus, the effect on the blood vuscosity creates deadly blood clots triggering stokes and heart conditions in many young people and triggering other illness as well, like diabetes and autoimmune diseases. And of course, there are those who died... even years later.
