We received an email from "Auntie Vaxx" who wanted to inform us of the death of Louisville Doctor, 36 year old SarahBeth Hartladge, who passed in March while attending a conference in Florida. She was the associate medical director of Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness. She worked diligently to help vaccinate the citizens of Louisville from Covid-19. She organized drive-thru vaccination and testing sites and appeared regularly at briefings with the mayor. Auntie Vaxx included this article from WorldTribune.com where they said her death was "sudden and unexpected" and implied it was because of the Covid-19 vaccine. Those scare tactics don't work on us, Aunti Vaxx. A quick google search helped me learn that Dr. Hartladge's autopsy said she died of heart disease and she also had Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) which is: "an inherited disorder that occurs when a type of white blood cell (phagocyte) that usually helps your body fight infections doesn't work properly. As a result, the phagocytes can't protect your body from bacterial and fungal infections." The anti-vaxxers want to try and associate the deaths of pro-vaxxers, under the age of 40 to the Covid-19 vaccine. The data does not support this (links below). There have been many studies on the risk of myocarditis and the Covid-19 vaccine. While there have been a few, very rare instances, there is no evidence to support the claims that the Covid-19 vaccine is killing young people by causing heart attacks. The Cardio Metabolic Institute has some interesting data on the increased rates of heart disease and heart attacks on patients under the age of 40 in an article titled, What's Behind the Rise in Heart Attacks Among Young People? According to the article, "1 in 5 heart attack patients are under the age of 40" and "Having a heart attack in your 20s or early 30s is more common. Between the years 2000-2016, the heart attack rate increased by 2% every year in this young age group." Maybe it's that our young people have a more sedentary life than ever before. As much as the anti-vaxxers want to scare us with stories like Dr. Hartladge's death, correlation does not imply causation. These claims that the Covid-19 vaccine are causing heart attacks are unfounded and we will not be swayed without the science to back up these claims. Good try, Auntie Vaxx. Cute name, too, but we don't fall for scare tactics.

The SAV community is unique and diverse. We are all here because we share the same frustration with anti-vaxxers and we believe that the Covid 19 vaccine is safe, effective, and a life-saver. The forum and comment section of this site should be a safe place where our readers can express themselves on a variety of topics that are Covid and non-Covid related. It's wonderful to see the way that friendships and camaraderie have developed in the SAV community. We come here from all around the globe and we have a lot of different opinions. We don't expect everyone to share the same opinion or always agree but we do expect that differing opinions be met with respect. From the beginning of SAV we've let our readers comment pretty freely and openly, depended on our members to be respectful and use their best judgement on what is right, reasonable, and fair since we are all here because we share a central interest and we didn't want to make everyone follow a specific set of rules. However, some members have taken advantage of that freedom and have started attacking other members. It's one thing to go after trolls and anti-vaxxers but we don't need attacks on each other. It's causing valued, SAV members to quit the site and that's not right. In an effort to keep SAV a safe place for our pro-vax community of readers, members who are abusive in the SAV comment section or the forum may have their comments deleted, be temporarily blocked from commenting, or have their account banned. Posted with their permission so there's no confusion and because so many of you are asking where they went. On Sunday we had a post where comments spiraled out of control. The following happened: RPN messaged and asked why their comment was deleted on the post and if it broke any guidelines or rules. Around the same time RPN asked in the forum to have their account deleted. The following is our conversation: Vaxxylady: Honestly, I don't even remember exactly what the comment was. I just saw it had turned into a big mess with people fighting and tensions flaring. I shut it down. I shut down commenting on xxxxx's post because things were getting out of hand and I don't want to sit and watch every single comment on a Sunday afternoon. The easiest and quickest way to deal with it was to delete the top reply so it takes out the 80 comments below otherwise I have to delete each comment one by one and I don't have time for that. Sorry if you are upset by that. As you can imagine, it's extremely tedious to moderate comments, especially on a sensitive post. I addressed a few of the malcontents that are allowed to roam free in your comment section. They were having a fit that Users were contributing to the GFM for Olivia. The motherless infant. The GFM that you folks would have been 'happy' to see cross the goal with the help of SAV members. At least, that was stated in the post. I'll quote to the best of my memory since it was brief. "For those of you that are scaring or discouraging people from donating. I donated and received a very touching personal Thank you message from Lyndsi this morning. Some folks on here need some self-reflection as they are becoming what they are fighting against." This is where your tedious, labor intensive 80 comment deletion comes into play. The jackals you play host to, were not happy with their one post of disagreement of donating to a motherless infant. They had to check back repeatedly. to see the GFM goal increasing and post their disgust about it. Telling folks they're ignorant, misguided and should be scared to donate because they'll get doxxed and terrible things will happen because they post on the SAV site. I even BLOCKED the member, but they were able to continue to Post on the Comment. They've cleaned up their post pretty nicely now to edit it to appear caring. Not the original verbiage they posted. I fucking defended myself from the distortion. Suddenly, I was the villain, because I donated. Because I agreed with Vaxman. I wanted to see the goal hit. Making ANY medical decisions, for a first time expecting Mother, are anxiety ridden. Olivia did not do anything wrong but was born during a Pandemic. But, my full original post is deleted.
