The cost of Covid: 3 years and 3 deaths later

Most of my relatives live in Ohio and Michigan. Three of my siblings have died since a year ago June. All of them had Covid at least once, and I'm pretty sure two of them only got the first vaccine. Those two were also sucked in by the evangelical Christians. Now, I wouldn't think this was so odd, except all but one of my aunts and uncles (14 total) lived to be in their late 80's and early 90's. I'm in almost perfect health at 74.

Here's the body count

1. Big Sister, age 74: got one shot, went to church, got Covid in early 2022, reinfected with Covid in mid 2023 (she had a "cold") had a heart attack, got 2 stents and died of a 2nd heart attack 12 hours later. Autopsy positive Covid, in July, 2023

2. Little Brother: age 68 got one shot went to church, got Covid late 2021 along with wife, reinfected in 2022, threw away all medicines (for Type 2 diabetes) on the advice of his evangelical leaders? Prayed for cure, began falling, covid damaged veins collapsed, foot got gangrene, had amputation to his knee, and those covid damaged veins sent a clot to his heart. A week after surgery he was let out of ICU and died of a heart attack that night, in March.

3. Little Sister: age 60, got one shot, went to church, got Covid late 2021, admitted to hospital unconscious and discharged with a walker. Survived and got another vaccine, having learned her lesson. Nonetheless, didn't get boosters, lives in antivaxxer area, seems to have gotten it again last winter, and was found dead of a heart attack in March.

Two More Waiting To Be Next.

1. This week I learned that one of my anti-science religious cousins has "severe pneumonia" and is in the hospital. Pretty sure he's unvaxxed like his siblings (rabid Trumpers) and lives in a Covid prone zone.

   
   

2. My brother's 76 year old widow (church is her life) was unvaxxed, got covid in late 2021, had 2 hospital admissions, ended up with a walker, then a cane. After my brother died she too began falling, and has been in hospital for 2 weeks. She's being sent to a nursing home.

We don't hear much about Covid anymore, just the anti-vaxxer lies and venom. People wonder why Social Security's "go broke" date has been pushed back to 5 years later. I suspect the premature mortality rate in this country is a silent epidemic due to all the post-Covid vascular conditions that people have had.
