Self-Proclaimed Patriot Anti-Vaxxers who have Died from Covid

UPDATE: We've added another self-proclaimed patriot who has died from Covid.

We're all watching everything unfold in Ukraine and see everyday citizens taking up arms to fight for their county. This made me think about what a real patriot stands for. The term "patriot" surfaced during the Trump administration with the far-right, Qanon and MAGA's who are identifying themselves as patriots. We've even seen Kyle Rittenhouse declared a patriot by this group.

Do we need to reclaim the term "patriot"? Or is the word already tarnished? Don Winslow wants us to take it back.

Today I'm going to share a compilation of self-identified patriots. These are anti-vaxxers that we've featured on HCA over the last few months.Think of patriots like anti-vaxxer Doug Kuzma.

Michael (Mike) Wayne Willis

Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2020 and claimed to be healed by 2021. He should have camped out the night the vaccine was released to ensure that he'd be first in line.

Mike's Covid story started in early January and by the middle of the month he was septic. He lost his Covid battle on January 25.

Phil Santistevan

There is patriotism to one’s country, and then there is Phil Santistevan. Every day, he posts the Pledge of Allegiance, but is he patriotic enough to do something for the good of his fellow citizens, apart from posting on Facebook every day? You know the answer to that. His family is blaming his death on poor medical treatment. 🤬

Scott Edwards

Another patriot wannabe + MAGA + anti-vaxxer. He leaves behind three children. I have a strong feeling that you'll have zero sympathy after seeing his story. His girlfriend Jessi was also a major anti-vaxxer.

He posted on 1/6/21, the day of the insurrection. He's pissed about censorship and is moving over to Gab/Parler. His move off FB didn't last very long.

Dale Owen Hardy Jr.

I don’t think we’ve ever showcased an awardee who was more loyal to the anti-vaxxer cause. Dale probably deserves his own SAV feature. He's a proud pureblood. He is the founder of the social media outlet ENAS.life (I don't think anyone has ever visited his site). Dale was also campaigning for Weston Martinez, who's running for Texas Land Commissioner. Dale is another self-identified patriot.

Ramon is Dale's friend, not his brother. It's refreshing to finally see an anti-vaxxer friend tell everyone to get vaccinated.

John Goms

When I first saw this picture of John, I thought he was Ted Nugent. Wishful thinking.

John has been doing drag races since the '60s and makes decals for all the race cars. He's a big MAGA, posted a lot about his pride in being white, is really confused about white privilege and is a proud self-proclaimed patriot.
