Unsurprisingly, it's all Repug, and it's not just one candidate. Several candidates looking to run for Gov. of Michigan submitted thousands of bogus petition signatures! As Gomer would say "Surprahse, surprahse, surprahse!" "A signature forgery scandal has turned the race for the GOP nomination to be Michigan’s next governor on its head: Two leading Republican candidates did not collect enough signatures to qualify for the primary ballot after invalid signatures were excluded, according to a report from the state’s Bureau of Elections. The Bureau of Elections reports will now go to the Board of State Canvassers, which will vote Thursday on which candidates qualify to appear on the ballot for the state’s Aug. 2 primaries. Thirty-six petition circulators — campaign workers hired to collect signatures — “submitted fraudulent petition sheets consisting entirely of invalid signatures,” according to the Bureau. In all, according to the Bureau’s report Monday, these circulators submitted at least 68,000 invalid signatures across nominating petitions for 10 candidates. Both leading Republican candidates submitted well above the 15,000 signatures necessary, but were subsequently hit with complaints that that counts contained fraudulent signatures. Three additional Republican gubernatorial candidates also fell far short of the valid signatures needed to qualify, the Bureau said: Michael Brown, Michael Markey and Donna Brandenburg. Each submitted well more than 15,000 signatures, but in all three cases, more than 10,000 were deemed invalid. It's Saturday morning, a beautiful, clear blue sky spring day in Maine that threatens summertime temps this afternoon. I should be out doing stuff before it gets too hot, but as I sipped the last of my AM coffee Sweet Home Alabama came on and now I'm stuck until it ends. Just saw a brief memorial to Fred on the morning news and it reminded me he was a serious actor despite his end of career roles as a bumbler. Here he is in a serious role, as Henry Miller. I'm gonna miss that guy!
RIP Fred Ward! content media

Not complainin' here, not one tiny bit, no siree, not even a little, and grateful to Vaxman and whomever else was involved in setting this Forum up. That said, it's fairly obvious this forum is on fire and destined to grow exponentially. As much as I appreciate the fact you can click on a notification and be taken directly to your forum post, a feature I believe is still lacking on the Home page notifications, due to the volume of posters and topics it might make navigating the forums a little easier if there were sub forums to compartmentalize things. Topics such as Politics, Non Covid Related, The Daily News, or any number of other interests TBD might reduce the number of clicks and effort in finding stuff you're interested in. Just a thought. Thanks again for all the great content and your supreme effort, Vman!
