According to this obituary, Thomas died from something on September 5, 2021. Thomas was a paramedic and firefighter in Glendale Springs. Despite his apparent willingness to save lives, he didn't seem too keen on saving his own. Oh well. This is a short one, but worthy of SAV given his career path. Shouldn't have happened this way. Like nurses, should we consider better educating EMS staff on infectious diseases? How the immune system works? How vaccines help the immune system? Perhaps an IQ test? I dunno. This is short one. Forgive me. Thomas was one of the earliest posters of this now infamous meme posted by so many SAV dead anti-vaxxers: Hmmm. A Democrat didn't kill him. I'm going to introduce you to 61-year-old Mark Mozley and his wife Jennifer. They've done missionary work all over the world. In the mid 2000's they served under IRIS Global Ministries in Mozambique. Then they conducted missionary work in China from 2010 to 2016, where they adopted their two-year-old daughter Ruthi. They had to return back to the states because of Ruthi's medical conditions. Mark & Jennifer's big mistake was banking on their strong immune system + the love of God to get them through this pandemic. We'll start here. Jennifer couldn't wait to see smiling faces again. She touted that strong immune system that God gave her. I wonder why God didn't give a strong immune system to all who died before? Here's the start of their COVID journey. According to this obituary, Kerry died November 8, 2021 of something. We know from social media that she died from COVID. She stopped posting on August 28, so we suspect that she was sick for 3 months. Her husband Bryon was also an anti-vaxxer. According to this obituary, Kelly died on November 8, 2021 of something. We know she died from COVID. Same old story. Posted Anti-vaxx propaganda, got COVID, got really sick and died. Her family, obviously ashamed, scrubbed her Facebook page. But I'd captured it a long time ago. Oh that's why.... Wow! She was right about only having two more days in the hospital! Uh oh... Apparently it didn't work? She died that day (it was actually on the 8th): RIP Kelly.

According to this obituary, Malissa Tippy Orr died on August 25, 2021. She didn't make her vaccination thoughts known, but her husband Kenny sure did. You're gonna love Kenny. He also got COVID but continued pushing against vaccines and masks. He sure did get over his wife's death too, as he seemed to level up his rate of politically motivated posts and anti-vaxx posts. So this post is about Kenny. Let's see what he was/is posting on Facebook. He's a little different in that most of his anti-mask, anti-vaxx, and anti-Fauci posts are made AFTER he and his wife get COVID. I wrote this story last November but at the time decided not to post it. This is extremely sad, and I didn't feel and still don't feel that Lyndsi fits the SAV mold. Plus, I didn't want to have to monitor or even shut down the comment section because of comments that might attack Lyndsi. The Reddit HCAs were pretty insensitive and didn't look closely at the circumstances. (As you’ll read below, throughout most of her pregnancy the CDC was pretty wishy-washy on recommending vaccinations for pregnant women, and didn't put out an emergency declaration until after Lyndsi got COVID). Recently, however, one of our members sent me this article in the New York Times entitled I lost my baby. Then antivaxxers made my pain go viral. The author, Amanda Makulec, who was vaccinated while she was pregnant, had a baby who died 3 months after he was born. Autopsy showed it WASN'T due to her being vaccinated, but that didn't stop the anti-vaxx crowd from attacking her. She takes the position that someone’s pain shouldn't be used to push an agenda. Obviously, I disagree with that point, as long as the truth is being told and facts are being pursued. She does mention how these lies might impact other pregnant women’s poor decisions about the vaccine. SAV is using truth to help people make lifesaving decisions about the vaccine. Anyway, I've decided to post this very tragic story of Lyndsi as a warning to other mothers who might be struggling with the same decision. Original Story (11/30/21): According to this obituary, Lyndsi died on 11/6/21. She was 37 weeks pregnant when she was hospitalized on September 19, 2021. She underwent an emergency c-section that delivered Olivia Kaye Sullivan at a healthy 6 lbs 11ounces, and the next day was intubated. I've resisted writing blog posts about women who were pregnant, as COVID vaccine hesitancy is very understandable for a pregnant woman, especially since the CDC was vague about it's recommendations until August 11, 2021, when they upgraded their recommendations. They didn't put out an emergency declaration urging pregnant and breastfeeding women to get vaccinated until September 29, by which time Lyndsi already had COVID. Lyndsi did share some posts that were anti-mask, and one anti-vaxx, but that's normally not enough to earn a spot on SAV. I can only justify posting this because of the extreme tragedy, for such a young mother and her daughter who will never know her. One of the reasons for this site’s existence is that tragic stories can help prevent more tragic stories from happening. In a perfect world, every vaccine hesitant pregnant woman who reads this will understand that it's more dangerous not to be vaccinated than to get vaccinated. Granted, another big mistake Lyndsi made was having a baby shower during a pandemic at the height of the Delta variant wave in Louisiana. As mentioned above, Lyndsi did re-post some memes that were anti-mask and one that was anti-vaxx: She would've been about 6 months pregnant when she reposted this on June 16. Again, at this point the CDC was not clear on their recommendations for pregnant women. This is the only anti-vaxx post I could find : She was against masks, which means she wasn't taking the pandemic very seriously. We've seen this meme many times. It's a meme, of course SHE didn't say this, but it does show ant-mask sentiment. Also, please understand this was in August of 2020: Another one from September of 2020: So, that's it. Like I said, these statements don't qualify her for a spot here. She had a baby shower on September 11: Its almost certain that she caught COVID at her baby shower as she tested positive three days later: She had an emergency c-section to save her baby Olivia. Olivia is a beautiful little baby girl: Her 20th day on ECMO: There was humor and hope: She made it through the night? Hoping for a miracle. Looking better... Less than 8 hours after the post above, Lyndsi died: Lyndsi's sister Melody is raising Olivia. There is a go-fund me for Melody and Olivia. According to this obituary, David died on September 8, 2021. Reading his obituary, it's clear that he had a storied career in Army Aviation. He reached the rank of Colonel, led the 1-108 battalion in the operation in Kuwait, and was highly decorated, receiving many medals for his military service. Why is David being listed on SAV? He wasn't an "anti-vaxxer" by the definition we use on SAV, and he wasn't an outspoken opponent of vaccines. Well, I received an email from one of his family members, who can explain: Hello, I have weighed for months if this is something worth submitting given what happened. David died of Covid last September and while he never posted anything anti-vaxx, his second wife, a nurse practitioner, was an ardent anti-vaxxer, and given her role in the situation, I think highlighting her posts as a healthcare worker might bring him some Justice, and cause people to see her name on Google as a bad actor. What really stirred me was the story about Judy Mikovitz's husband who died unvaccinated thanks to his crazy wife. She may have deleted her posts, but I am happy to provide screen shots if you all think this would be worth a post. I loved him, and he deserved better. He died saying he couldn't believe he didn't get the vaccine and Lettie's doubling down on her narrative is why I think a post would be worthy. She told me that he kept asking her why they shouldn't get it and no matter what I did to try and convince at least get him to do it, she found ways to make it a difficult discussion. She continued making anti vaccine posts after he died. Let's see what Jettie Leger, David's wife, had to say. By the way, she loves to post crazy accusations and then warn that arguments won't be tolerated: Now, remember that her husband David died on September 8, 2021. According to this obituary, Chuck died on August 30, 2021 and loved Waffle House (I'm not making it up, it's the first thing the obituary says about him). Another one I'm not sure why I didn't post nearer the time, but better late than later. So here is Chuck. According to this incredibly short obituary, Robert died on November 4, 2021. Robert was certainly anti-vaxx, but as you'll see he did something I haven't seen any other AV I've posted on this site do; he posted a pro-vaxx argument, saying "there's two sides to every story". Robert appeared to consider that argument, but, unfortunately for him, he didn't heed it. Let's see what Robert was posting on Facebook... He feels for people who are sick with COVID: Let's see....new variant that is much more contagious....anti-vaxxers are such linear thinkers... His wife worked for Peace Health, and is about to lose her job, it seems... Friend recovering from COVID: I'm definitely missing something...his logic: And now for something completely different: the other side: continued.... continued.... Someone else he knows has Covid and is needing prayers... (This is the third friend he's mentioned.) Prayer (not medicine) seems to have worked for his friend: Oops, he himself needs prayers now. According to this obituary, Chaz died of something on March 16, 2022. We know he died from COVID because his estranged brother wrote me and said so. No love lost, I take it. Let's see what was going on with Chaz. This is a quick one. Chaz liked to post on Facebook. He didn't post much, but when he did it was anti-vaxx. : As an anti-vaxxer he misinterpreted the real meaning of this meme. Chaz, we told YOU so! You should've gotten vaccinated. Some just read consumer reports and the CDC recommendations, though: Unvaccinated Americans are douchebags, though... Anti-Fauci: And...he died of something: But here is what his brother wrote me: Subject: Tea Party/MAGAt who wouldn't get vaccinated Message: Trumper, MAGAt brother who wouldn't get vaccinated died a horrible death March 2022 because he would not get vaccinated. The worst part is that my 91 year old mother (vaxxed) had to deal with her son's death. He was a 'Tea Party' type who hated government giveaways, but drew Social Security, a pension from the Postal Service, and a VA disability check as the result of a pick up football game knee injury while he was at Ft. Devins. Hypocrite. This guy has always been a toxic, controlling bully his entire life, which is why I stopped dealing with him over 40 years ago. RIP Chaz.

I'm going to introduce you to the Hughes family of Hillsboro, Missouri. Thomas and Betty Hughes are married with four adult children, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We're going to focus on their two very vocal anti-vaxx daughters, Amanda Lamkins and Wendy Blass. Jump to comments. We'll start in 2020. Amanda seemed to be down the rabbit hole of Qanon conspiracies and later moved on to anti-vaxx conspiracies. In March 2021, Amanda asked her friends if they were going to get vaccinated. Amanda claimed to have had COVID already and was begging her 65+ parents NOT to get vaccinated. She then shared this shoddy screenshot that is supposed to convince her parents to not get vaccinated. 😬 I can't even imagine begging my senior parents NOT to get vaccinated. During this entire pandemic, they were always the most vulnerable. Here are some of Wendy and Amanda's thoughts on the vaccine. Wendy really seemed to care about those service members who lost their lives in Afghanistan. 😉 At this point, their father Thomas is sick with COVID. Their mother Betty shared with everyone that Thomas was hospitalized with COVID. And Wendy is still shitposting... Wendy finally shared an update about her dad. She never mentioned COVID, though. I wonder why? On September 24, 2021, 67-year-old Thomas Hughes passed away. Of course, they activated GoFundMe with zero mention of COVID. Amanda pops back on after being in FB jail for 30 days and lets everyone know about her father's passing. She's back to shitposting. How many times have we heard this one from anti-vaxxers? Amanda, come read the stories on SAV and HCAz and learn about all of the anti-vaxxers who have died at home. There are plenty of them. Her father died less than a month from this post and she's screaming already about not living in fear. WTF? I don't have confirmation of Thomas's vaccination status but I have a pretty good hunch that if he was vaccinated, Wendy and Amanda would have shouted that from the rooftops. That would have been their ammo, but instead, they kept their dad's COVID status hush hush and continued on with their anti-vaxx rhetoric. UPDATE 5/5/22: Amanda left us these messages. And what does 2000 Mules, the movie alleging election fraud have to do with COVID?

Another one from the backlog: acording to this obituary, Buck passed away on September 21, 2021. He died of COVID. He leaves behind a wife and two step children and a grandson. Why didn't he get vaccinated? We'll see... There are several reasons Buck didn't get vaccinated against COVID-19. First, well…it's going to disappear one day… Second, well…he's a hell of a lot more worried about his constitutional rights: Third, well…the FDA!! Fourth, well…I'm not going to read all that... Fifth, well…God. Well, he got COVID and had to be rushed to the Hospital, and two weeks later it sounds like he experienced the dead cat bounce, because he died 4 days after this post: This is how the Mississippi State Guard announces the death of one of their own: RIP Buck.

According to his own social media account, Alvin is in the hospital with COVID and it doesn't sound like he's doing well. He lost his mother to COVID about a month ago. He is a typical southern hick of an anti-vaxxer, as you'll see. Yep, he has the goatee of Covid death. Steve is another of the many anti-vaxxers I didn't post, mainly because they were simply too much like other people, or they posted all of the same memes. For instance, I have countless guys with goatees and pictures of themselves with a freshly caught fish in their hands. I suspect I didn't post Steve here the first time because he posted all of the same memes as so many of the other SAV's. Anyway, Steve is a good representative of the anti-vaxx meme-posters. See update below UPDATE (2 hours later): First, upon further reading, the implication that Cecelia was at an Avalanche game post-COVID diagnosis has to be wrong. I made some edits reflecting this. More importantly, Cecelia's son has given us some incredible insights which you must read after you've read the original story. See below Original Post (2/13/22): According to social media posts (below), Cece is on a ventilator with COVID. Cece is another one who "wished" to get COVID so she could have natural immunity. Cece and her husband own a ranch called Wolf's Skull Ranch in Alamosa, Colorado, and she's somehow involved in Thoroughbred horse racing, having once worked with John Mabee. She's also obviously proud of being her father's daughter, as she is constantly posting about her dad, "The General", who was Major General Robert Scurlock of the Air Force. He was basically a desk general who ran the F-15 fighter program in the mid-seventies. Like Cece, he was a MAGA Republican until he died in 2018. Anyway, Cece is an antivaxxer who trusted her "natural immunity" and didn't get vaccinated, and in the end she got her wish to get COVID. This is long, so here's a link to the bottom... Cece's such a strong SAVer that we can start this post with her illness on December 3rd (she doesn't know it's COVID yet): She's excited about her new foal that is about to arrive. Here is another anti-vaxx post, and she's doubling down on her "gaining natural immunity". JFC, you get natural immunity from a vaccine...gawd, I want to scream at her! LOL...she's pretty clueless. This or get a 3 second jab? Hmmmm... She thought the Polio vaccine was cool, but I guess technology has advanced way past her ability to understand it. So now, instead, she's likely to die before that 5 years gets here. This is so completely dumb: Clearly not you... Apparently she's been arguing with people about this. He even mentions her substantial social media following in a post on Reddit. Cece became part of the brainwashing machine, and how many people suffered her same fate because of her influence on them? This is war. We are wounded, and we are lashing out. The whole country is wounded. His mother and others on this site contributed to this wound, and so we are here to point this out as loudly as we can. If we can't change someone's mind, then maybe we can stop them from posting on social media in fear that they too will be made fools of when they get sick and die. One of the tenets of this and the HCA awards is redemption. If these anti-vaxxers desert their side, join the ranks of the pro-vaxxers, and work to convince others to get vaccinated, then we will forgive them and welcome them with love and open arms (mostly). It sounds like -- if she survives this -- she may be willing to join us in this fight against pseudo-science and irrationality. Aside: It might not be obvious, but the distance between Cece and her son is because her son was born as her daughter.

Here's one I wrote up back in December but didn't post (I can't remember why): According to social media posts, Jennifer died of COVID on November 26, 2021. Jennifer was young, fit, and attractive. Not the type that anti-vaxxers expected to die from COVID. She serves as a warning to go ahead and get vaccinated no matter what, even if you think you are outside of the normal demographic of people who become critically ill or die from COVID. I wouldn't put Jennifer in the SAV "anti-vaxxer" category that has evolved on this site; she only posted two posts calling into question the value of the vaccines, but then again she only had six posts in 2021 overall that weren't just profile pictures or cover photos. So, why didn't Jennifer get vaccinated? I guess whoever the Canadian Fauci was wasn't convincing enough for her? She's reading Malone and Kirsch. That's what killed her. She was tagged as a member of this group: Well...she died six days after this post: One of Jennifer’s friends feels bad because she couldn't convince her to get vaccinated and has a warning for her other friends: She left behind a son and daughter. Hi SAVers, The best part of this site is you. I have been consistently amazed at the quality of comments on this site - incredible humor, incredible humanity, incredible insights. There seem to be a lot of continuing discussions across posts, so I thought I‘d give a more traditional forum a try. However, I need help in determining what the various topics should be. Please post your suggestions. You can find the forum in the menu for the site. On another note, I've gotten tons of emails about members not getting notifications of posts. Well, Wix took that feature away because of spam reports from members (obviously antivaxxers who signed up to troll and then reported spam on the notifications). I've submitted a rebuttal to WIX and am waiting for their decision. Also, sorry for the slowdown in posts, I've been super busy and had to travel overseas again. Things should get back to normal as soon as my jet lag subsides.

UPDATE 4/23/22: Jump to our next story on the Serafino family. You'd think that after someone loses a loved one or two to COVID, they'd do everything in their power to protect themself.
